Giving Back Nevada (“we,” “us”) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 88-3056923) based in Las Vegas, Nevada. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit givingbacknv.com, contact us or donate, and how we use it.
The short version
- We only collect what you choose to share with us.
- We never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- Card and bank details go directly to PayPal. We never see them.
- This site uses no advertising or analytics cookies.
Information we collect
When you contact us
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, the topic and your message. We use this only to respond to you. Messages are delivered to our inbox by email and are not stored in a database on this website.
When you donate
Online donations, including Venmo, are processed by PayPal. We do not receive or store your card or bank details. PayPal shares your name, email address, donation amount and, if provided, mailing address with us so we can send receipts and say thank you. Donations made by Zelle or check include the details provided by your bank.
When you browse
Like most websites, our hosting providers may log basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site secure and running well. To prevent spam, our contact form keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for up to one hour.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our security provider, Cloudflare, sets a few strictly necessary cookies to tell people apart from automated bots and protect the site from attacks:
- __cf_bm identifies bot traffic. It expires after 30 minutes.
- cf_clearance is set only if you complete a security check, so you aren’t asked again. It usually expires within a day.
These cookies don’t track you across other websites and aren’t used for advertising. When you continue to PayPal to donate, PayPal may set its own cookies, which are covered by PayPal’s privacy statement.
How we use your information
- To respond to your questions and requests.
- To process donations and send receipts.
- To keep records required by law, including for tax purposes.
- To keep this website secure and prevent spam.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run this website and accept donations, and only as needed to provide those services:
- PayPal (opens in a new tab) processes donations, including Venmo payments.
- Resend (opens in a new tab) delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
- WP Engine (opens in a new tab) and Cloudflare (opens in a new tab) host this website and protect it from attacks.
We may also disclose information when required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep donation records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. Contact messages are kept in our email only as long as needed to respond and follow up.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. We don’t send newsletters or marketing emails.
Children’s privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
